Steeve Bauras was born in 1982 in Martinique. He first studied at the Regional arts visuels Institute in Fort – de – France. He then made further studies in Paris at l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He travels a lot from Pologne  to Senegal, from Chili to Canada . He exhibits in many international artfairs and biennals : Dakar, Cuba, Lagos, AKAA, Rencontres photographiques d’Arles, Art Paris. In 2019,  White Dreams n°1 is acquired by le FRAC Nouvelle Aquitaine

Steeve Bauras’s work is both a thought and a realization, a perfect alliance of the dialogue of substance and form. Steeve Bauras draws on the encounters and experiences of his many travels, during which he meets the underground musical scenes that inspire a part of his creation. This surveying of the world can be understood in the artist’ work as a permanent investigation of new experiences conducive to the enrichment of his work. From there, an artistic language develops where the artist’s material and gesture are put at the service of a mediation between reality and imagination in order to challenge our own gaze and posture in the face of the world. Through his work, the artist questions memories and links of territorialities to make visible the strength of artistic creation on our conception of reality.
