The post-congress tour to Krakow in Poland will take place immediately after Aica international congress, from September 29 to October 1
Krakow is major cultural center in Central Europe and UNESCO Heritage Site. It is not only a beautiful historic city but has also a vivid contemporary art scene, which we shall discover. Among the highlits of the post-congress tour are: Museum of Contemporary Art MOCAK opened in 2011, newly organized Tadeusz Kantor museum CRICOTEKA, National Museum with the largest in Poland display of Polish 20th century art, galleries of contemporary art, artists’ studios and Academy of Fine Arts.
Apart from the study visits a panel discussion will be organised about the state of contemporary criticism with Marek Bartelik, James Elkins, Anda Rottenberg, Henry Meyric Hughes, Richard Gregor, Juraj Carny and Adriana Almada (tbc) on Monday evening September 30.
AICA Poland will provide a free bus shuttle from Bratislava to Krakow on Sunday September 29 – so you do not have to arrange for a travel between Poland and Slovakia. Kraków has an international airport so you can fly back home or continue your journey from here. http://www.krakowairport.pl/en/
